Having already staged a fight card on the deck of The Flying Dutchman, M-1 Global is hitting the water again.
The Dutchman, a docked yacht owned by M-1 Global’s Vadim Finkelchtein now serving as a chic restaurant in St. Petersburg, Russia, will host M-1 Selection fights featuring competitors from all over the country. Modeled after World Cup soccer, M-1 Selection cards determine which fighters and teams move up to or down from the M-1 Challenge in 2010. Using a points system that combines individual wins with team wins, the winners of Group A and Group B are scheduled to meet in November with the winning team being awarded the opportunity to represent its home country in next year’s Challenge.
The fights will be streamed live for free on M-1.Global.com on July 21 at 12:30 p.m. EST / 9:30 a.m. PST.
