Unlikely Allies
The Dragonslayer and The Dragon’s Den join forces to help fight the battle against brain trauma.
Bodybuilding legend Rich Gaspari “The Dragon Slayer” believes in those who make a difference. As CEO and Founder of Gaspari Nutrition, he knew there was something remarkable about a mixed martial artist who made a promise to provide round-the-clock care for his father, who had suffered serious brain damage following a car accident 20 years ago. The fighter is new Bellator featherweight signee Rad Martinez.
In honor of Martinez’ commitment, Gaspari Nutrition sponsored the inaugural Dragon’s Den MMA Training Event on Aug. 20 at Pit Elevated Academy in Orem, Utah. Participants joined noted members of the MMA community including UFC middleweight Brian Stann, coach Greg Jackson and The Ultimate Fighter alums Court McGee and Ramsey Nijem. The guest coaches provided participants with short MMA seminars focusing on topics such as striking, ground-and-pound, jiu-jitsu and strategy tips and techniques.
All proceeds from the event went to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund and the International Brain Research Foundation.
