At FIGHT! Magazine, we believe there is a need for a completely objective and unbiased ranking system for fighters to replace the myriad of subjective rankings that have become skewed, in many instances, by fighter popularity. In an effort to address this issue FIGHT! Magazine brings you its computerized rankings system which takes into account a fighters strength of opponent, strength of performance, and frequency of activity.
Three ranked fighters stepped into Bellator’s circular cage last night and four stepped out of it. Reigning Bellator Middleweight Champion Hector Lombard arrived ranked #25 and left at the same spot following his six-second demolition of Jay Silva. The loss was Silva’s third qualifying fight in our database, and he enters our Middleweight Rankings at #77.
Joe Warren advances to the Featherweight Tournament Final and from #10 to #9 in our Featherweight Rankings with a win over unranked Georgi Karakhanyan. Wilson Reis drops from #12 to #28 following his loss to unranked Patricio Freire. The tourney final represents Freire’s third qualifying fight and it’s likely he will find a home in our top 20 win or lose.
