At FIGHT! Magazine, we believe there is a need for a completely objective and unbiased ranking system for fighters to replace the myriad of subjective rankings that have become skewed, in many instances, by fighter popularity. In an effort to address this issue FIGHT! Magazine brings you its computerized rankings system. Let’s see who’s moving up and who’s moving down in the top 25 after Strikeforce: Evolution and WEC 45 Cerrone vs. Ratcliff.
Strikeforce: Evolution
(Gilbert Melendez got the respect he was looking for.)
Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal moved from 24 to 12 in his natural weight class of 205. The man he beat, Mike Whitehead, was #20 in our Light Heavyweight Rankings but fell out of the rankings following the stoppage loss.
Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza moved from #13 to #12 with his submission win over Matt Lindland.
Gilbert Melendez moved up from #10 to #7 with his unanimous decision title fight win over Josh Thomson, who dropped from #27 to to #31.
Scott Smith leapt to #14 in the middleweight rankings with his stoppage of Cung Le.
WEC 45 Cerrone vs. Ratcliff

Brad “One Punch” Pickett slides into the 11th spot on on our Bantamweight list with his win over Kyle Dietz.
Scott Jorgensen moved from #10 to #6 in the Bantamweight rankings with his win over Takeya Mizugaki, who jumps in at #21 now that he has enough qualifying fights to be ranked by our system.
Joseph Benavidez jumped nine spots to become the #3-ranked Bantamweight after he defeated former #2 Rani Yahya. The Brazilian dropped five spots to #7.
Main eventer Donald Cerrone moved up to #34 in our Lightweight Rankings, leaving him a couple signature wins outside of the top 25.
